I’m excited to share what we’ll be reading together in February for the Great Loop Dreamers Book Club.
Our February book is Slow Bells on the Great Loop by Doug Sanderson.
This month’s read is a true dreamer’s book. It walks through the idea of the Great Loop not as an abstract “someday,” but as something that slowly takes shape: one decision, one boat project, and one stretch of water at a time. Doug shares what it looked like to go from imagining the Loop to buying a boat to easing into the rhythm of cruising and eventually setting off on his own Loop adventure aboard Slow Bells.
If you enjoy reading about the process (the preparation, the early shakedown cruises, and the gradual shift from land life to boat life), this one will feel especially grounding. It’s a steady, realistic look at how a big dream actually comes together.
